Lester Dukes, 73, of Duquesne, was born to the late Willie H. and Mary (Peterson) Dukes on April 19, 1946. He departed this life on February 25, 2020, at the VA Hospital Aspinwall in Pittsburgh, PA. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Willa Mae Bryant, Habeeba Tyree, Sylvester Dukes, Joseph Dukes, and Melvin Dukes.
Lester graduated from Duquesne High School and went on to study at Arizona State University; until he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Lester worked at U.S Steel Duquesne Works and the Community Food Bank. He was an avid fisherman; he loved music and hunting. No one can forget man’s best friend because he loved his dogs.
Lester is survived by his wife Carlotta Dukes; sons, Barry "Barry White" Montgomery of Duquesne, PA, Brian (Charlotte) Smith of N. Braddock, PA, Paul "Tony" Webb of Pittsburgh, PA, Lester Dukes Jr. of N. Braddock, PA, Ramonn Dukes of N. Braddock, PA, Craig Harris of Duquesne, PA, Todd Harris of West Mifflin, PA; daughter, Carlessa Dukes of N. Braddock, PA; 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Willie (Ruby) Dukes, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Judy Dukes and Martha Dukes; nieces, nephews, many relatives, and friends.
