John W. Moore, Jr

John W. Moore, Jr., 85, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in Jewish Hospital of Louisville, KY.  He was preceded in death by wife, LaVerne Ruth Smith Moore and son, David A. Moore.

He was born August 14, 1932 in Tuscaloosa, AL, son of the late John W., Sr. and Ethel Killings Moore.

He was a member of Gethsemane Church of God In Christ and the Canaan Christian Church of Louisville, KY.

He worked as a Lab Technician for Hercules, Inc. and as a manager in the auto service department at Sears of West Mifflin, PA

Survivors include two daughters, Dr. Sharon Moore of Charlestown, IN, Cynthia Moore of White Oak, PA; two sons, John (Candice) Moore of North Strabane, PA and Lloyd (Donnaye) Moore of Lawrenceville, GA; six grandchildren, Justin, Brittany, John, IV, Taylor (Justin) Robbie and Zion and four great grandchildren, Aurianna, Vanessa, Troy, and Jayce.  Sisters, Elizabeth Groce of Pitcairn, PA, Julia Harper of Charlotte, NC, and sisters-in-law Marian Moore of Virginia Beach, VA, and Charlotte Brown of Cleveland, OH, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gethsemane Church of God In Christ, 200 Crest Street, Clairton, Pennsylvania, where services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Elder Dr. Melvin Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.

Arrangements entrusted to the Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, Inc., McKeesport, PA.
