George O Saunders

George Orean Saunders, 88, was born on February 27, 1931 in Duquesne, Pennsylvania. He departed this life, Friday, January 3, 2020 at Jefferson Hospital. He was the son of the late Samuel Frederick Saunders and Amanda House. He was also preceded in death by his son William Saunders and grandson Garrett Saunders.

George obtained a Business Degree from Lincoln University. He was the loving husband of Ruth Matthews Saunders for 67 years. He retired from U. S. Steel after 35 years.  He was the Pastor for Gospel of Jesus Church in Duquesne, Pennsylvania for a number of years.

He loved his church. He enjoyed gardening, and admired everything about airplanes; although he never flew in one.  

George legacy will live on in his wife, Ruth Saunders; children, George Jr., Theodore, Duane Eugene, Gregory Kent, and Lynn Denise Boykin; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
