Fred Preston, Jr.

Fred Preston, Jr., 85, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, passed on Friday, September 28, 2018 in UPMC McKeesport Hospital.

Born May 10, 1933 in McKeesport, son of the late Fred, Sr. and Charlima Moore Preston.  He was preceded in death by grandson, Tyrone Coleman and sisters, Violet Preston Andrie, Freda Jeter, Leona Leggett, and Daisy Ausbrooks.

Fred was a member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church.  He was a U.S. Marine Corps and retired from the City of McKeesport’s Public Works Department.

Survivors include his children, Jeffrey Gonzales of McKeesport, Nyoka Ausbrooks and Forest Ausbrooks both of Duquesne; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; siblings, Victor (Barbara) Burk of Coppell, TX, Wanda Preston and Christina Preston both of McKeesport; brother-in-law, John C. Leggett, Sr. of McKeesport, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm in St. Paul AME Church, 1350 Locust Street, McKeesport, Pennsylvania, where services will start at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Geoffrey Tate officiating.

Interment will be private.
