Dorothy Sayles, 89 of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, departed this Earthly life on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She was born Dorothy Rebecca Crowder who was born on December 4, 1928, in Duquesne, PA, daughter of the late Sterling Joseph and Gladys Crowder Tucker.
She then married the late Alvin Sayles and had two children.
Dorothy attended Duquesne High School from there she would graduate and attend the Harlem Hospital School of Nursing where she would graduate as an RN.
Dorothy worked as a Registered Nurse for the VA Hospital in Oakland PA, where she devoted her time caring for Military and Veteran patients and they loved her presence.
She was an active member of the Harlem School of Nursing Alumni where she would attend many Reunions with her fellow nursing classmates.
Dorothy was a sophisticated, women Immaculately dressed with determination and dedicated to her profession.
She made sure she instilled dignity, integrity, etiquette, and class within her family and corrected you when you said Ya it was yes as she would say.
She was a great provider and believed in family.
She has gone home to be with Lord and her Late Mother and Father her Late Siblings Sterling Tucker, Lorraine Ross, Rosie Tucker, and Bobbie Tucker and many other loved ones that have passed on.
Left to cherish her many memories are her daughter, Audrey L. Holmes of Bronx, NY; son, Michael D. Sayles ESQ of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, two great-grandsons. Dorothy is survived by her four siblings DeWayne Tucker of Duquesne, Larry Tucker of Homestead Ronald Tucker of Upper Marlboro, MD, and Frances Mulgado of McKeesport,. Four sister in laws Mauren Tucker, Thelma Tucker Elaine Tucker and the Late Joyce Tucker she also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.
She will be truly missed.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 9-11 a.m. in in Macedonia Baptist Church, 17 Cochran Street, Duquesne, Pennsylvania, where a memorial service will begin at 11:a.m. withith Rev. Archie D. Perrin, Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow be private.
