ADELE MARIA WEBB’S OBITUARY

June 24, 1930 – April 23, 2020

Some called her Del and others Ms. Webb, but all knew her as a loving, generous force of nature despite her often-quiet demeanour. Adele Webb was a New Orleans, LA born native to the late Joseph and Sarah Scott Ransom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband English Webb Jr. and daughter Sarah Jane Webb. Adele leaves not to mourn but to cherish her loving memory, Daughters: Alita Webb (Florida): Julie Webb (California): Treena Webb-Meacham (Lamont Meacham): Sons: English Webb III (Elizabeth Webb): Joseph Webb (Chicago): Isaac Webb (Olivia Webb), California. Adele met her husband English Webb Jr., while he was studying at Xavier University School of Pharmacology. English and Adele married May 13, 1950 and had a strong marriage of 66 years. Adele is survived by her sister Margery Watson (Detroit MI.), eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who loved her dearly.

Adele received her Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate (LPN) and worked at Dillard Hospital, New Orleans, and LA. After moving to Clairton, PA, Adele worked at McKeesport Hospital, McKeesport, PA. Adele was extremely active in her children’s education including local community activities. She was a long-standing member of Clairton High School Boosters Club, The Clairton Coalition and the Meals on Wheels Program. She was the community mom, and Adele’s home was always open to anyone in need of a meal or a place to stay.

“Life In A Day”

Before you were formed in the womb,

Your days were numbered and set in place.

They are the chapters of the lessons you came here to learn,

The faces of the wisdom this world has to teach you,

The gateways to the treasures this lifetime alone can bestow.

A day enters, opens its doors, and tells its story,

Then returns above, never—for no two days of your life

Will share the same wisdom

“Rabbi Tzvi Freeman”

This poem reflects what Adele freely gave to all, Her Wisdom!
