Wadell Atkins, 82 of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Born March 17, 1936 in Fitzpatrick, AL, he was the son of the late John Henry Cowans and Iriene Atkins Fields. He was preceeded in death by his two brothers, John L. Fields and Clifford Fields. Wadell was the loving husband of Michelle Atkins of McKeeport.
Wadell was a former member of Zion Baptist Church, worked as Machine Repairman for Bechtel Bettis, and was also an excellent Handyman.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Michelle Atkins of McKeesport; children, Loretha (Robert) Smith of Montgomery, AL, Mary Louise Rossier of Pittsburgh, Charlotta (Danny) Smith of Pittsburgh, LaTisha Atkins of McKeesport, Maria (Duwayne) Carey of Pittsburgh, Wamarisha Atkins of West Mifflin, Edward DiPerna of Greensburg, and Gerald Faupel, whom her reared; twenty-three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sister, Mamie (Kevin) Fields Underwood of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Jimmy Fields of McKeesport, Richard Fields, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Friends will be received Tuesday, April 17, 2018, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the at the Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, Inc., 2326 Jenny Lind Street, McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Macedonia Baptist Church, 17 Cochran Street, Duquesne, Pennsylvania.
Interment will follow in the McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery, McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
